These vouchers are sent by SMS only and can only be used instore. Be sure to ask for any funds not spent, to be transferred onto a gift card – otherwise they are forfeited.

Digital Voucher/Gift Card Terms and Conditions:

  1. Please read these terms carefully. Your use of our electronic voucher services (including via any of our web sites or via our iPhone or Smartphone applications) will be subject to the current version of these terms published on our web site at www.shoprite.co.za and www.checkers.co.za at the time of your use. If you do not accept these terms, you may not use our electronic voucher services and we may refuse to redeem electronic vouchers issued to you.
  2. Our terms contain specific provisions to limit our liability, allocate risk or liability to you or actas an acknowledgement of certain facts by you. These terms have been set out in capital letters. You should pay particular attention to these terms since they limit your ability to recover losses that you may incur in connection with your use of our services.
  3. If you are not yet 18, you may not use our electronic voucher services and we will refuse to redeem electronic vouchers issued to you.
  4. We may change our terms of use from time to time. Such changes will take effect when they are published.   5. This virtual voucher is sent by SMS and can only be used in-store and cannot be used online.
  6. Stores do not have any record of your vouchers or values.
  7. Vouchers can be redeemed only once.
  8. If the full value of the voucher is not going to be redeemed in one transaction, be sure to ask for the remaining value to be loaded onto a gift card in store.
  9. No change will be given if the value of the purchase for which the voucher is used, is less than the value of the voucher.
  10. If you leave the store without getting the balance left after purchase put onto a gift card, that balance is forfeited.
  11. Vouchers cannot be redeemed at Usave mobile stores, MediRite Pharmacies or at Money Market counters.
  12. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
  13. Should the voucher be lost or stolen, neither Shoprite & Checkers nor its agents will be liable for any reimbursement of any kind.
  14. Vouchers are valid for a 3-year period from the date of purchase.
